What I’ve Been Up To: June 2019

Hello lovelies!

Sarah here, the fearless leader and spicy redhead behind Harmonious Union Events. This spring has been a big one for me, so I thought I would take this post to keep you in the loop on what’s been going on!

First of all, we’ve officially launched the venue consulting side of the business, starting with Madison newest and craziest venue, Madhouse Experience. I got into this industry seven years ago as a venue manager and it’s so exciting to now come back to my roots and help other new venues in the area understand how they can best serve our market. Through this program, I work together with venues wherever they are needing the most help, whether it’s building a program, coming up with a marketing campaign, making suggestions on layout and format, and in general providing insight both as a venue manager and also a planner who has helped countless clients find their dream space. In today’s world, where everyone is looking for a unique place to host their event, we want to do our part for the industry to make sure all vendors can serve clients in a way that is satisfying to both parties.

Here’s a preview of what this place has to offer:

Secondly, I am excited to announce that a wedding I had the honor of planning last summer has been nominated for a nationally-recognized NACE One Award. I have been a member of NACE for several years now since starting my business and am lucky to be able to show off my work on such a large platform. The award ceremony is scheduled for this July at the NACE Experience Conference in Cincinnati, which I will also be attending as my main education based event of the year.

Finally, this spring we welcomed the newest addition to our family, little Cecelia Rose. Kevin and I are over the moon and have full hearts with our now two little girls at home. Every day when I work on making HUE bigger and better, I do it with the motivation of wanting my littles to have a mama who they are proud of, but more importantly who has flexibility and prioritizes being present for them. So thank you to all of YOU, as well as my team members, for allowing me this life day in and day out.

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings. Have a great summer everyone!
